BRITTON AND ASSOCIATES, INC. is a full service Construction Consulting Firm with the resources to handle your construction problems. We specialize in the resolution of construction claims and construction disputes throughout the United States. Our professionals have the time-tested experience needed to ascertain the facts, determine cause and effect, allocate liability, measure damages, and present persuasive arguments.

When a claim situation arises, our initial investigation is intended to determine the validity of suggested claims. The early assessment often includes a site visit. We identify the issues and organize the project record. Electronic organization provides rapid access to documents (including email), facilitates a manageable time line chronology and issue organization.

Our Schedule Analysis will conform to the AACEI guidelines and contract specified requirements to determine the extent of delay attributable to each issue and party. A comparison of the As-Planned and As-Built schedule provides the parameters of delay. A detailed evaluation of delay issues impacting the critical path will be based on the Original Schedule and Updates, with any necessary adjustments for reasonableness, and the project record.

We calculate damages for Extra Work, the Impact of Changes and Constructive Acceleration. Our Loss of Productivity Analyses rely on the Measured Mile technique when documentation allows, or accepted Industry Studies. Time Sensitive Damages stem from our Schedule Analysis and Actual Indirect Costs. We calculate Extra Work Costs with Actual Direct Costs, or Accepted Estimating Procedures.

BRITTON provides Litigation Support for hearing, trial and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), including Negotiation and Mediation. Our Expert Reports conform to Legal and  Contract Requirements, and include Demonstrative Evidence including Charts, Graphs and Models for presentation.

When necessary, we have provided expert testimony regarding scheduling, loss of productivity and contract interpretation issues in Federal, State and Municipal Courts, and numerous arbitrations. Our Work Product will include a Wire-Brush scrubbing, substantiated by the Project Record.

We strive to keep our clients educated on current techniques and assist in setting up procedures to maximize the Change Order process and instill an atmosphere of Claims prevention. We incorporate the most current techniques, such as Earned Value Management (EVM), Time Impact Analysis (TIA), or appropriate Forensic Schedule Analysis.
